My Job

Before I get this job, i thought it's a kind of easy and high paid job. Cause it's quite hard for a STPM fresh graduate student to get over 1k salary. And my cousin told me is about selling and quate the airfare. Then i decided step on it and go for training at KL by my cousin. I observed what they use to do, and found that is not that easy as i thought. You have to deal with the customer and try to get them to buy the fare, then you have to note down some detail of customer by conversation with them. While on the phone, you've to get a possible seat and quote the price of fare as soon as possible and you've to use alot of code for it. It's not easy for me.

At beginning, i just handle those emails of booking request and feedback. This kinda easy since i've enough time to check the seat and price then just contact the customer. But sweat time wont long lasting, after 2 weeks of handle emails, then another job was arranged for me, that is answer call. It's nightmare for me. Starting, after i got request, i'll ask for their contact no. then just call them back after i got all information they need. Slowly, i'm able to quote them on the phone without call back cause most their requestions are same. After this solved, another nightmare is monthly target set by boss. It's quite hard for me to achieve it since most people just ask for the price and not really gonna buy it.

Most of people will think our job is so easy, just sit at home answer phone, reply email, and sell airfare. This same as what i thought before i step on this field. But after i get myself into it, it's totally different. Pressure of monthly target, pressure of solving problem fare. When anything goes wrong with the fare, we're the 1st person have to deal with customer. And they alway think that is our fault even is cancellation of flight, website admin update the wrong price or even no seat on flight. The wrong price provided by webmaster always caused us most the problem like quoted wrong price, reserved wrong fare and etc. At last, we're the person blame by customer. Sometimes even they dont blame us after pronlem occured, it's not easy to solve the problem and let customer fly. So don't ever think office job is easy. You never experience it and you never know the stress, pressure and respondsibility.
